Here are some pictures from the archives of my phone's camera. She's getting so big.

Ham Math
Chayce has started wanting to "do school" like her big brother. She sits with us, listens, and colors. I never really thought that it was doing much in the way of teaching her, until today.
"Mom," she says, "can I show you how I do math?"
"Sure," I reply, thinking she'll be showing me a picture of something related to what we learned earlier in the day. But, I am proven wrong as she starts telling me a story problem, a problem that we haven't covered in Zac's schooling.
"Mom, if my friend has four pieces of ham, and eats two, he only has two left, right?"
"Riiight..."
"Ok, so then, if he eats another one, then he can save one for lunch tomorrow!"
"Yes, good job, Chayce. Where did you learn math like that?"
"Oh, I just know it. Want to hear another one?"
"Mom, if I have two sticks..."
Let's just say that the evening was filled with my jaw a little more agape than I planned on. Little minds. So much bigger than we think.

Indianapolis 1/2 Marathon
Well, I don't have pictures yet, but my awesome friend Tara did stick around the finish line and get some.
I don't really know how to word this post. Part of me is really excited that I finished the race, didn't throw my guts all over the place, and didn't end up with any long term injuries. The other part of me is sad that I got a cramp that went from my glutes to the back of my knee for the last few miles and so I ran it about 30 minutes slower than I planned on AND I have a wonderful running partner who waited for me, but could have taken off and done a smashing job, but she didn't. So, I have very mixed emotions about this race. I keep wondering if I'd do better if I did it again, but also feel good that it is something I accomplished because I never in a MILLION YEARS thought I would even try to do something like that. I suppose I could "what-if" for weeks, but since I can't change it, I should move forward and enjoy that I made it...all 13.1 miles, in less than 3 hours.

Oregon Coastal Scenery
Can you see the star fish?
You can't see the starfish from here, but it is a great coastal shot. (The starfish is on the rock in the lower right.)
The Devil's punch bowl.
Another view of the Devil's punch bowl.

Momma Bird
Payge is watching her older siblings closely. Chacye likes to pretend she is a birdy and sits on her eggs. Payge wanted to play too.

Oregon Coast
This week, Jillian and I are visiting the Oregon Coast while I am attending the SMEP graduate student pre-conference. We made it here before meetings start and visited some of the beautiful sites on the coast. Here are some pictures of Jillian and I on/near the beaches.

Sea Lions
I didn't expect them to be quite this big. Or noisy. Payge, you do a great otter impersonation, now try sea lion.

Light House
Jillian and I had the opportunity to see the currently functioning Yaquina Bay light house and we got to go up to the top and see the lamp.
The light house from the beach
Outside the light house
